This collection was created using Lumen Printing, an alternative photographic process that dates back to the 19th century.
I handpick native wildflowers and invasive weeds, placing them directly onto light-sensitive photo paper before exposing them to sunlight. This simple, analog process yields ethereal snapshots of botanical silhouettes.
I prefer working with expired photo paper because it produces unexpected color distortions and ghostly hues. After exposure, I scan the paper to preserve the image in its altered state. Traditional darkroom chemicals would strip away these color shifts, so I intentionally avoid them.
Blending analog methods with digital tools allows me to honor the past while navigating the present.
Prints available upon request.
